WHY KARS?

The territory of Kars Province contains key biodiversity Areas with 11 Important Plant Areas and 13 Important Bird Areas. The flora and fauna are seriously endangered, mainly due to intensive animal grazing, the use of agricultural pesticides and the loss of centuries old traditions, as the population shifts from rural to urban areas.
